La Casa Del Formaggio & Auscold Logistics Commit to Edinburgh’s Food Park
The Northern Adelaide Food Park is an export focused, food manufacturing precinct – home to expanding companies that drive growth in South Australia's value added food sector.
Cheesemaker La Casa Del Formaggio will relocate and expand its operations at the Food Park, boosting production, increasing shared services and creating local jobs.
The family owned and operated business will build a 7,500m² state-of-the-art advanced cheese manufacturing facility, including a factory, silos, water recycling and integrated energy efficiency systems, enabling them to increase milk purchases and grow production of fresh cheese.
It is expected 208 jobs will be created during construction, with a further 90 new ongoing jobs in professional, administration and factory processing roles, as the company expands.
Auscold Logistics has entered into a contract to secure up to six hectares of land at the Food Park to expand its specialised transport, logistics and cold storage operations, creating 100 construction jobs and a further 60 ongoing positions.
A new $25 million Food Innovation Hub, has also been mooted should the labor party win this weekend’s election. The Hub will include laboratories, test kitchens and facilities for South Australia's quarantine, food technology and food safety experts.
It will improve links between research and the commercialisation of new technology, and help attract further interstate and international investment into research and innovation here in South Australia.
