Frenchy’s Fix It

For 19 years, Daryl French worked in the bodyshop at Holden’s Elizabeth plant. Upon the announcement that Holden’s would no longer be manufacturing in South Australia, Daryl decided that it was time to ‘get serious’ and see what he wanted to do for a living that would give him job satisfaction and support his family.

As someone who was always handy around the house and who had a building licence, Daryl decided to turn his hobby and passion into a business. Visiting the Holden Transition Centre, Daryl discussed his business proposal to determine if it was a viable option, and was referred to the Polaris Centre to attend a Business Fundamentals Workshop focussed on what he needed to know and do to achieve his goals.

Daryl then met with Geoff Haygreen, one of the Polaris Centre’s business advisors, for a free mentoring session on establishing a business. So impressed by what he took away from this meeting, Daryl signed up to the mentoring program offered by the Polaris Centre to help him understand in more detail what he needs to do to ensure that his business focuses on customer satisfaction and to ultimately give him the edge over his competitors.

Establishing, Frenchy’s Fix It – a 7 day a week handyman service, servicing most areas in Adelaide – offering installation, maintenance and repair work for both the domestic market as well as the rental market, his motto is no job too small. He also offers an after-hours service at no extra charge to help customers that work business hours and can’t get time off.

Daryl’s business continues to grow and customer satisfaction is high. Here’s one client’s feedback - “Very thorough and professional job. Serviced my evaporative air conditioner and it has honestly never worked better. Will only ever use Frenchy’s fix it for handy work around the house! Highly recommend and great rates” – is anything to go by, Frenchy’s Fit It can only continue to be successful.
